Fedora usually keeps the previous kernel when updating to a new one, but
I don't know if Buntu does the same. When the Grub screen comes up, hit
a key and select the previous kernel... if it's there. Don't know if it
helps, but has helped me in Fedora when they've released a bad kernel.
