I have to say thank you for the reponses to my post on Vista and business (that would Messrs. Kinali, Glover and Turnbull). As Josh pointed out, I am not defending or promoting any particular view, and I realize there are many ways to see things and to do business. It shocks me though that a lot of people seem to not see more than one or other way to do business. As for the comment on academics, LOL, I think my point (this is a rushed post, sorry) was that firstly, Western is IMNSO opinion better than Eastern for the ideas and purposes I have in mind (obviously, given my bias), and that the emphasis in the sciences is more easily focussed on proper data analysis than it can (or should?) be in the humanities, simply because the fields are mostly far better and more easily defined. Sorry, don't have time to check what else I had in mind. In any case, it was in no way intended as a slight on the humanities. Also, I am not criticizing Eastern education and for the things they might be better at.
