I agreed :). Linux kernel developers and yum, apt-get developers, for
example, *must* take responsibilities! They has made Linux so easy to
use. Probably, they are intelligent but by doing so,
they had made their users dumbo :D.

Speaking of my personal experiences, a week ago,  on a CentOS 5 box,

yum update ( 197 packages to be updated, included kde* )

and it went smoothly with no errors.
