TLUG,
I have some computer equipment - some pretty decent stuff, actually - that I'd like to donate to either the TLUG group as a whole, or to any one member that would really like it.
What I've got is a box that contains:
One (1) perfectly good Canon CanoScan LiDE scanner. Small, light, portable, powered by USB. Brand spanking new, comes with USB cable and even a cover.
I'm giving it away because it doesn't work with Linux. Kind of ironic, then, to be offering it to a Linux users group. But if there is anyone who dual boots to Windows or Mac, this would be a sweet deal.
It's in absolutely perfect condition. Never used. Except once when I sat there watching it not do anything with Linux.
One (1) brand new 14" Laptop cover, with good padding to prevent shock and whatnot. Black. Brand new, never used. Bought it and discovered that I needed a 13" cover case in order to fit into my backpack.
Two (2) internal DVD/CD drives. One works perfectly, the other may not work. I'm not sure of all the specs on these ones.
I've put them into a box, and they are ready to be sent to anyone who will take them. I'm giving the whole box away, so if you want any one thing, you'll be getting it all.
I heard there were TLUG auctions, and I'd like to donate them to those so that they can help TLUG in general. But, my schedule just about never allows for me to make TLUG meetings. So if anyone will take them for the purpose of auctioning them for TLUG's benefit later, then I will pay the shipping cost. Or if there's some other way in which they can be of benefit to the group.
If, however, there's no real way to convert this free hardware into use for the group, then any individual is welcome to take them, but then I'd send them chakubarai (COD).
Does that seem fair? I hope so.
Anyway, let me know if there's any interest.
