[tlug] Using CPU flags SSE and MMX

Hi,

I don't whether if it is right or wrong but I was told that by using
SSE and MMX features ( can be seen by cat /proc/cpuinfo ) with gcc,
program that has heavy graphic processing will be faster ( gcc -mmmx
-msse )

If it is true, how can I do that?

Do I have to (re)compile my kernel ( enable config MPENTIUM4  because
I am using Xeon 3.20 ) ?
