Re: [tlug] grub/possible sata issue
Hi Conor,
I think that the DOS requires Windows since DOS itself is the licensed
software by MS usually. I bought IBM USB Keychain, and it reliably
installs DOS boot softwares on USB drive, but it was also done by
Windows as you could see...
How about following the instruction on the following URL?
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Create_a_DOS_boot_USB_flash_drive
I didn't try it, so please excuse me if it also doesn't help.
Regards,
---Shin.

I actually suspected that it might have been booting to the wrong drive
so I tried installing with only the one. But still no dice.
At this point I'm pretty certain that the problem lies with the BIOS.
Some sites have reported that the error I'm seeing is to do with the
BIOS incorrectly booting the os, and that I should upgrade the BIOS.
Only problem here is that I do not have a floppy drive to flash the BIOS
with.
Does anyone know of a reliable method for creating a DOS bootable Flash
Drive? All the methods I've found require that you use a windows machine
and a bootable floppy disk. I've had very little luck in getting it to
work.
