Actually I tried just that. Set up vmware to boot the windows partition in the guest OS. At the first boot windows told me that there were lots of hardware changes. It then seemed to work ok. But after a few days I had to reformat that partition because I had to re-activate the windows and I could do that only over internet and unfortunately I had disabled the virtual ethernet card in the virtual machine (because I just wanted to use it locally). Now can windows be re-activated in the virtual machine, I don't know :). Evan
