The first two sentences are very interesting too, because it's
immediately obvious that this is a puff piece worthy of the SPA. The
calculation described is extremely bogus. It would justify claiming
that Microsoft alone is responsible for X% of U.S. GDP, where the X is
the percentage of U.S. businesses which now have a Microsoft product
installed somewhere on the premises.
I'll get back to you on the methodology and results of the study
itself, but we can immediately conclude that this is a group we do
*not* want to be associated with, because they push exaggeration well
over the boundary of falsehood. Microsoft is more trustworthy in its
PR (and I do *not* consider that "praising with faint damns").
