> If you run "top" it shows the processes, ordered by CPU usage, so the > culprit should be at the top. It also shows memory usage, and PID (which > you use to kill it with). Clarification: you use the PID to kill the CPU-hog program with (*). To close "top" itself you press the "q" key. Darren *: E.g. if PID is 1234 you type "kill 1234". If that doesn't kill it, you do "kill -9 1234".
