[tlug] Dependancy hell

TLUG.

I'm trying to install the GIMP development package, libgimp2.0-dev.

When I tried to install it with Synaptic, it said:

Depends: libgtk2.0-dev but it is not going to be installed

So then I tried to install libgtk2.0-dev, but it said:

Depends: libgtk2.0-0 (=2.10.6-0ubuntu1) but 2.10.6-0ubuntu3 is to be 
installed

After that, I there doesn't seem to be any way to get the right version 
of libgtk so that this will work.

Is there a way out of this dependency hell?
