I am wondering if your kubuntu install didn't remove the partition labels.

How about putting in the fedora fstab:

/dev/hdc2     /boot_ubuntu   ext3     defaults         1 2
/dev/hdc7              /ubuntu   ext3     defaults         1 2

The swap partion label might be gone as well (if you let kubuntu reformat the swap partion) so you might want to replace that as well.
