[tlug] Replacing Windows 2000 DC with Samba

Hi All
I`ve almost everything from my Windows 2000 DC control
e.g. public dir. ,printer,web site , ftp site 

The only exception is XP PCs authentication with the
Active Directory

I`ve installed Samba etc with Ubuntu 6.06 and looked
at multiple web sites and found the following

which seems to say that it is not possible
and when i look at HOWTO
http://samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/
it only mentions NT
(Also looked at idealx.com)

I like to move my DC/SID to Samba without hassling
the current users 

has anyone tried moving Windows 2000 Server to Samba3?
