[tlug] SuSE 10.1 upgrade problem

Hi,

today I upgraded from SuSE 9.0 to 10.1. A problem with the mouse not
working at all could be solved using Yast, but some keys on my keyboard
still do not work, like the Alt-Gr key, and I cannot fix this using Yast
or Sax, since there is nothing to choose from in the keyboard menu, no
options, just empty lists. Since I am using a German keyboard it means
for me that I cannot enter @, ~ and | directly, but have to copy and
paste, very annoying.

With Google I found similar reports (mainly in German, hmmm ...) without
solution, in one case the problem disappeared without the poster knowing
what he did to achieve this (http://www.linux-club.de/ftopic65606.html).
In the OpenSuSE Wiki
(http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Nonfunctioning_Keyboard_Key_After_Installation)
I found I should change my keyboard from pc104 to pc105, but it is pc105
already:

Section "InputDevice"
  Driver "kbd"
  Identifier "Keyboard[0]"
  Option "Protocol" "Standard"
  Option "XkbLayout" "de"
  Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
  Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
  Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys"
EndSection

I am using a Toshiba Satellite laptop and the keyboard problem is the
same for the laptop keyboard as well as the Microsoft Natural Keyboard
connected via USB. What could I try next? Which additional information
do you need?

Then I have a general question regarding WLAN: with the upgrade my WLAN
card was detected much to my delight, but I don't get a connection,
although I am using the same settings as under Windows where it is
working fine (WEP, open authentification mode, if this is the correct
translation ...). The Fritz!Box WLAN Monitor lists this cards MAC
address with the name the computer has under Windows and the status is
idle ("Leerlauf" in German). If I try to get an IP I have no success:

linux:/home/uli # ifrenew eth1
    eth1 device: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini
PCI Adapter (rev 04)
    eth1 configuration: wlan-id-00:0c:f1:05:0c:13
Starting DHCP Client Daemon on eth1... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . no
IP address yet... backgrounding.

I set the Fritz Box to acceppt new WLAN network devices and repeated the
process, same result. Where can I start to fix this?

Thanks a lot, Uli
