About two months ago I successfully set up my TV tuner card to work with 
Ubuntu, using IVTV to drive the card and Xawtv for my tuner.

Recently, there's been some kind of kernel upgrade, and suddenly it's 
not working. I've had kernel upgrades before, and when it happens, I 
just run through the same set of instructions I used the first time to 
install it, and it worked okay then.

But this time, it's not. And I'm getting this weird output from dmesg.

Apparently IVTV disagrees with itself about something.

Can someone look at the output below and give me some kind of clue as to 
what I might do to solve this?

I fear I might miss the Japan world cup game tonight because if this!
