The dell page does not say anything about such details because PC manufacturers like to be able to change hardware without changing the product number/name. Option one is to buy parts and check for compatibility on the web before buying. If you want to buy a complete PC from a brand maker, then trying with knoppix is handy. Don't forget that you should check with it properly (including sound, usb, SATA disk, suspending, etc). Good luck!Attachment: signature.asc
