- Subject: [tlug] Website Update Prompt -II
Sorry for using GMail - I saw Jim's message on one computer but I can't find it in my GMail account, so here goes from a saved version of the message: Re: [Jim] Also understand that not just HTML is in play. HTTP is also involved. Feast your eyes on this: wget -S -O /dev/null http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~LLLtrs/ Except for the URL, you'd better copy and paste that puppy. Well - that's pretty cool! I get this: wget -S -O /dev/null http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~LLLtrs/ --13:44:55-- http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~LLLtrs/ => `/dev/null' Resolving www5d.biglobe.ne.jp... 60.236.4.101 Connecting to www5d.biglobe.ne.jp|60.236.4.101|:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... HTTP/1.0 200 OK Age: 0 Accept-Ranges: bytes Date: Tue, 24 Jan 2006 04:41:56 GMT Content-Length: 6393 Content-Type: text/html Server: httpd+ssl Last-Modified: Tue, 13 Dec 2005 07:39:27 GMT ETag: "120c20d-18f9-439e7aaf" Via: 1.1 bgcs4431 (NetCache NetApp/5.5R6D13) Length: 6,393 (6.2K) [text/html] 100%[====================================>] 6,393 --.--K/s 13:44:55 (198.14 KB/s) - `/dev/null' saved [6393/6393] This raises a question - it shows that it was last modified on December 13th, 2005. Where did that information come from? Now... I just updated that page - today, January 24th, 2006 and yet still (when I run that again), I get: wget -S -O /dev/null http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~LLLtrs/ --14:01:35-- http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~LLLtrs/ => `/dev/null' Resolving www5d.biglobe.ne.jp... 60.236.4.101 Connecting to www5d.biglobe.ne.jp|60.236.4.101|:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... HTTP/1.0 200 OK Age: 0 Accept-Ranges: bytes Date: Tue, 24 Jan 2006 04:58:36 GMT Content-Length: 6393 Content-Type: text/html Server: httpd+ssl Last-Modified: Tue, 13 Dec 2005 07:39:27 GMT ETag: "120c20d-18f9-439e7aaf" Via: 1.1 bgcs4423 (NetCache NetApp/5.5R6D13) Length: 6,393 (6.2K) [text/html] 100%[====================================>] 6,393 --.--K/s 14:01:35 (196.07 KB/s) - `/dev/null' saved [6393/6393] Now I'll try popping in the dates with no extra numbers.... Hmm.... no change. It still shows December 13th, 2005. Re: [Jim] What research have you done about this? http://www.w3.org/Home.html can help. Okay, I'll go have a look now! Thanks!
