[tlug] windows works linux doesnt why?

Hello,

why wont linux work

two drives -
A windows2000 on one
B fedora core 2 on another

fedora core wouldnt boot, assumed the disk was bad

switched out the win2000 disk

installed fedora core 2 on new drive C

got funny error in gnome like clock and workplace switcher dissappearing.
windows get dissappearing.

then when I rebooted, I got error messages about the filesystem on C being
bad.  its a new disk though and the old one B is only mounted from C -- Im
not booting from B.

So I put in A again and all is fine.

now I am a widows user scratching my head why
