Tragically, I think you are right.

Last week, I went to this event called the Solaris 10 Boot Camp. As a
subsequent email shall reveal (I have it saved in my drafts folder,
awaiting my next hour-long block of time), Solaris has all sorts of
cool technical things about it. In fact, I learned about some features
that have been in Solaris going back to 7 or 8, that I had been
completely unaware of, since they were not part of The Way Sun Admins
Shall Do Things, as dictated by God to various Sun technical writers.

Point being, if the business / marketing people don't kill Sun, the
company has some *great* technology!
