Thanks to one and all for their advice regarding color matching etc. Some responses were more on the mark regarding what I was attempting to find out than others, but the total of each and every voice made for a comprehensive overview of the subject - more than I had hoped for! So - again - thanks to everyone who responded. One issue with color that is so obvious that I'm embarrassed to even mention it - is the Contrast and Brightness settings on monitors. As there is a fundamental difference between incident light and direct light, I try to minimize damage to my eyes by turning down the brightness setting on my monitor (I am continually amazed at how people put themselves into physical pain with overly bright, blindingly stark-white monitors; complain of the pain and never think to turn down that brightness or change the color!), and I have made some very horrible color choices by picking a color that looks great with high contrast and low brightness settings - only to see the color of the page looking really bad on a "painfully-stark-white-full-brightness" monitor. The answer? Now I adjust the monitor to full pain settings and pick colors that way - readjusting it back to less painful settings after the selection... and then looking at what is now black, but knowing that most people working in pain will see it in (more or less) the color I picked with the monitor set to full-pain levels. This is only an issue really with dark colors, so some might suggest I forgo them as 99% of websites do, but.... Thanks again for all the input! Lyle
