The best place to check what are "Linux friendly" printers is here: http://linuxprinting.org/suggested.html As an example, this site guided me to my very recently bought HP PSC 2355. It is an USB inkjet printer and a scanner, and both works perfectly. It also have slots for SD-Cards and other same style cards (many different slots available) that can be used for directly print photos from camera without using the computer, but they can also be seen by your Linux box as USB drive, and can be easily mounted. And the interface of the printer (there is a small LCD panel on the printer for common maintenance and use) can be localized in many languages. Raphaël
