I spent a few hours yesterday (actually more like six) exorcising a
friend's computer of the MS demon and putting in Linux, Mozilla,
FireFox, Scite, etc.  He took the computer home, plugged it in, and here
are a few of his first words sent into the wires via Linux:

"Just got back!  Booted up and: Walla!  Success! ..... To think I was
suckered & exploited all those years. Now I finally see the light."

I mention this for a few reasons that I'm not sure I can properly explain.

The most basic reason is that I'm going to introduce his to this list,
but I'll also suggest that he try hard to only post when he's at his
wit's end and has exhausted all resources at his disposal (search
engines, etc.).

And then... I can't even begin to explain really the heavy burden of
unhappy feelings brought on by MS that have been dispelled thanks to
Linux.  I felt that way, and my friend clearly feels that way too.

And... um... something else, but I forget what was.  Too rushed at the
moment!
