I know this is a bit OT but I need some help. I just
picked up a cisco 2514 router with 2 transceivers and
a 1912 cat. switch all to be used to practice for the
ccna test!
hmm. technically not off topic because cisco runs on
BSD code which is Linux-ish anyway. & your posting is
more interesting than spam & or thread hijacking
posts. ; )
1) buy a ccna book
2) buy [2]cables for connecting the 2 routers directly
to one another as in yahoo auction (v35-male & female)
3) create 2 different vlans on the switch and attach
catV cables from the routers to the switch.
you would likely benefit by starting at step 1, & upon
completion move into 2 & 3. good luck....
