Hello, I ran apt-get (via synaptic) to install support for a pvr-350 pci card (wintv)but got the dependency error below. <RECIEVED ERROR> atrpms-52-1.rh9.at While installing package ivtv-firmware-2.02.023-3.at: strictdep-kernel-kmdl-2.4.20-30.9-1-1.rh9.at While installing package ivtv-kmdl-2.4.20-30.9-0.1.9-25.rh9.at: depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.20-30.9/updates/drivers/media/video/ivtv-fb.o depmod: rwsem_wake depmod: rwsem_down_read_failed depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.20-30.9/updates/drivers/media/video/ivtv.o depmod: video_unregister_device_Rdff36ff9 depmod: video_register_device_R5da67a2f perl-Config-IniFiles-2.38-2.rh9.at perl-Tk-800.024-6.rh9.at perl-Video-Frequencies-0.03-1 </RECIEVED ERROR > Thinking maybe I could uninstall the package and set it aside until another version came along. I noticed synaptic was upgrading a smp kernel and ivtv-smp-kmdl package. I am just using a standard kernel though. Double checking under the ivtv package dependencies it lists the ivtv-smp-kmdl package. Funny though since why wouldn't synaptic have tried to install that with the other packages when ivtv went in in the first place. So my conclusion is that winTV is unusuable for me at the present time and I ought to notify the packager of the problem. -- Shawn Happily using M2, Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/m2/
