Essentially I am just using the printer as a stand alone fax. The driver I mentioned is a scanner driver. But I am not using any driver. The computer can be off when I am faxing. It doesn't even need to be hooked tyo a computer. I didn't realize it until later but I don't have a need to fax off the computer. After reading your most recent reply, I will repeat, I intend to use the fax as a stand alone *off the computer* function only. I just didn't realize this when I posted originally. Thanks again.
