That doesn't make much sense.  It's not a complicated program, should
work fine with whatever version of the relevant libraries you have on
hand.

Try make xconfig if you've got X and Tcl/Tk installed.  Otherwise,
make oldconfig (which is possibly what you want anyway).

Or just make config.  Boring, but you'll only have to do it a couple
times.
