[tlug] Installing Linux on VMWare running on Windows2000

hello,

first time to post a message here. i want to install (gentoo) linux on
vmware running on win2000.

has anyone been able to do this successfully?

the problem is that when i create the linux virtual system on vmware,
the hard disk volume is created as scsi device. then if i boot the
system with the gentoo instllation disk, the scsi device is not visible.
vmware has another OS option called "other" which allows me to create
the hard disk volume as IDE device. then it was able to get to the end
of installation. however, when i restarted the system, it crashes and
does not boot up...

any comments are appreciated.
