Linux Users Groups WorldWide: Add new group
This is the form to add a new group to the Linux Users Groups WorldWide
project. Before you start make sure you read the requirements
(http://lugww.counter.li.org/requirements.cms) before you start using
the form.
Your selected country is: JAPAN
Your selected region is: Tokyo
Fill in the form according to the instructions.
A
Name of the group to be listed: <Tokyo Linux Users Group>
This field may not be empty! A sample could be: Linux User Groups
WorldWide (LUGWW)
Use one or more from the following methods to list contact information
about your group. Use all fields that apply per section. (The sections
are numbered B1, B2 and B3.)
B1
Homepage: <http://www.tlug.jp/>
Use the real URL and use it in full format. Redirecting URLs are not
accepted by this form. Start with a protocol header (http://) and end
sites and directories with a slash (/).
A good example is http://lugww.counter.li.org/ or
http://www.li.org/press/ but NOT www.mylug.org as this one points to a
local directory (which propably will not exist).
As a rule of thumb: Type the URL in your favorite webbrowser and then
see how the URL gets corrected. The resulting URL is mostly usable.
B2
Contact person (or contact role): <Uvae President>
Email address (of the contact): <*@example.com>
Here you enter information so people can ask questions regarding your
group via email. If you enter a mailinglist address make sure you allow
people that are not subscribed to post messages or it will be a useless
email address. In general I would not recommend to use such a
mailinglist address here.
A sample could be:
Contact: Hugo van der Kooij
Email: lugww@example.com
B3
Postal address: <somewhere, Tokyo, Japan>
This field may not be empty for formal groups!
You should use a full postal address here including the name of the
group, the name of the contact and the countryname. Consider that this
adress must be sufficient to send a letter to you from anywhere in the
world.
A sample could be:
Linux User Groups WorldWide
p/a Hugo van der Kooij
Oranje Nassaustraat 16
3155 VJ Maasland
Netherlands
C
Starting date: <1994-0?-??>
Enter the date your group was started. This field may not be empty!
The format is YYYY-MM-DD where YYYY is the year in 4 digits, MM is the
month of the year in 2 digits and DD the day of the month in 2 digits.
A sample could be: 1996-07-06
D
Size of the group: <one zillion>
Enter the (estimated) size of the group as number. This field may not
be empty!
E
Status of the group: <informal>
forming informal formal
"forming" means you have started a group but have not yet decided on
its status.
"informal" means you got a group together but did not make it a legal
entity.
"formal" means you have made your group a legal entity.
F
Comments: <The largest Linus Users Group in the Geek City>
Enter a limited amount of comments only. Large entries may be rejected.
Do not forget to list your region and a URL to a listing of regions of
your country if there is not (yet) a list of regions for your country.
G
Maintainer: <*@example.com>
The email address in this field is required. It will be used to send an
access password for this entry and it will also be used to inform you
according to the privacy rules. Do not enter a mailinglist address.
Keep the email address up-to-date as it is the most common reason why I
have to remove (or reject) groups from the database.
