Scott, Martin, Thanks a lot for your responses. They were very informative and helpful. I am relatively new to Linux and started seriously playing with it about a year ago, but I regret having neglected it for the past several months (been too preoccupied with a Windows 2000 migration), but now I hope to pick up where I left off. Your comments make me want to look into Debian, but I would also like to continue looking into FreeBSD (which I tried to install last night but it didn't work for some reason; for one thing, the ISO image CD wouldn't boot on my old P133 machine, so I had to use the boot floppies and it did install but only part of the way, and the CD did boot on a 500MHz Athlon). Kind Regards, Raymond Tokyo
