You may also want to look at rsync, which also uses >ssh to communicate. >Patrick Of course SSH, SCP, SFTP are nice, but what if you just want a file share on your local home network so you can listen to MP3 files or have a director for your kids games backup files etc, SMB is pretty convenient for that - if it is behind the fireall not on the firewall of course.
