[tlug] LimeWire / Java PATH Question

Probably an RTFM question and total lack of comprehension on my part,
however, I have been unable to solve it. Posting to the relevant support
groups (gnutella forums), googling and my Linux bible yielded no result.
I would appreciate some input regarding the following:

Problem: LimeWire doesn't install because it does not find the Java libs
(sounds trivial, but continue reading, please)

System: RH9 up to date
Java installed: j2re1.4.1_02 (updated from j2re1.4.0)

This is the /etc/profile:

JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/j2re1.4.1_02
PATH=$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH
export JAVA_HOME

(No other JAVA entries)

Following is the output in bash for echo $PATH:

/usr/java/j2re1.4.1_02/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0/bin:/root/bin:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0/bin

This is the output for echo $JAVA_HOME:

/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0

/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0 does not exist, so - unsurprisingly - LimeWire
refuses to install.

Assuming my profile is correct, where does the echo $JAVA_HOME
/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0 come from?

Why does it not echo correctly /usr/java/j2re1.4.1_02?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

Best
Thomas
