[tlug] sh shell woes

Please excuse another elementary question. 
A BSD shell account I am using is set up with 
only sh . Would be great to use the up 
arrow to access what would be stored in 
.bash_history, as I have grown used to 
doing on my Linux box at home. 

Anything I can do on my own to power-up?
