[tlug] URL rewriting in .htaccess files on Zeus

Hi Tluggers. 

Hope all are well. 


* Does anyone -by any chance- know of a workaround for Zeus (4.0r2) 
that will permit the following code in a .htaccess file? 

RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /somedir RewriteRule ^([^/]+)\/(.*)$ otherdir/$2 [
L]

Note: I understand that things may be possible with other 
versions of Zeus and/or server-side modification, but the 
above is for a standard setup (I assume) which must be used 
as is. Therefore, I am looking for some type of user-side 
script that can get the job done. Have the sinking feeling 
that it's impossible (despite what Napolean said), but would 
appreciate your learned opinions. 

/me has been having great fun with php/mysql cms 
packages, but has more than met his match with 
mod_rewrite and virtual hosts...

* Other issue. It seems that people subscribed to tlug-digest 
are not automatically granted posting priveleges. I seem to recall 
that one had to join another list in addition to the tlug-digest, 
in order to do that, but could not recall the name of the list. 
Please advise.
