Hi,

Anyone experienced at getting named running? It seems the standard RH set up
doesn't work.

I'm trying to get named (9.1.0) running on RH 7.1 , I get the error

May 24 08:40:29 bandicoot named[4318]: loading configuration from
'/etc/named.conf'
May 24 08:40:29 bandicoot named[4318]: /etc/named.conf: open: permission
denied
May 24 08:40:29 bandicoot named[4318]: loading configuration: permission
denied
May 24 08:40:29 bandicoot named[4318]: exiting (due to fatal error)

but check this out....

$ls -ld /etc
drwxrwxrwx   35 root     root         4096 May 24 16:15 /etc

ls -l /etc/named.conf
-rwxrwxrwx    1 dns      dns           395 May 24 16:15 /etc/named.conf

I can't get it any more permissions than that!
