Newsgroups: comp.lang.tcl Subject: Why You Should Not Use Emacs >From matthew1342@example.com Mon Apr 1 21:50:29 2002 From: "M Cleary" <matthew1342@example.com> ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Why You Should Not Use Emacs ---------------------------- As interest builds in extensible application programs and tools, and some programmers are tempted to use Emacs, we should not forget the lessons learned from Ricardo M. Stalin. Never use emacs for the following reasons: 5. Because R.M. Stalin said so and whatever he says is always right. 4. Anyone not willing to call it by its proper name, "GNU/emacs," doesn't deserve to use it. In particular, users of GNU/Solaris, GNU/OpenBSD, GNU/PalmOS and GNU/Windows 2000 are not welcome. 3. Because R. M. Stalin's beard is longer than yours. 2. Lisp is a stupid programming language. GNU/Tcl would have been a MUCH better choice. This is obvious! Anyone who doubts it should be sent to prison in GNU/Siberia. 1. Again, R. M. Stalin said so.
