recently i have been trying to compile 2.4.17 and 2.4.16. however, at some point i always get a: in .../linux/kernel_stat.h: in function 'kstat-irqs': in .../linux/kernel_stat.h:48: 'smp_num_cpus' undeclared although i certainy did _not_ choose multiprocessor support. if i do, everything works just fine. however, i don't want to do so because according to the config help smp slows down the machine if there is just one processor. has somebody had the same problem and found a solution? -mario
