In future, Japanese topic will be slashdotted more.
Why? The reason is Slashdot Japan will be started soon.

If many SlashJ users know existence of Slashdot, Japanese
articles will be translated to English by all means. In addition,
Slashddot's good story may be translated to Japanese by SlashJ's
contributors.
