I dont know what the current state of TurboLinux-Chinese is, but what I remember from meeting the people who at the time were putting it together was that I sent them the latest TL-jp, and within about 2 weeks they had the thing working in Chinese, i18n-ified (ie, not localized, but internationalized. I could still use English on their system). I'm not sure if the jp and cn stuff were working concurrently in all cases, but I'm sure at least xemacs was handling it correctly :) ----------------------------------------------------- Scott M. Do TurboLinux or Red Flag attempt to restrict their catalogue/message files? Presumably they are open source as much as anything else. I would hope that eventually whether a packager like RH had a "Chinese version" was not really the issue of what to put in the CDs, as they should all be there, but what language to have a manual in, whether to -- Jim Breen [jwb@example.com http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/] Visiting Professor, Institute for the Study of Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan +81 3 5974 3880 [$B%8%`!&%V%j!<%s(B@$BEl5~30Bg(B] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Technical Meeting: Sat, May 12 13:30- Next Nomikai Meeting: Fri, June (TBA) 19:30- Tengu Tokyo Eki Mae ----------------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan
