Re: Linux books in English

For online sources, I use bookpool.com--prices are quite low, and shipping
is usually half (or less) of the amazon.com. I haven't been able to puzzle
through the Japanese signup and order form on amazon.co.jp, but from what I
can see, they are charging pretty close to U.S prices (Kinokunia runs 50 to
100 % more per title) and have extended their free shipping to the end of
Jan.

To actually handle and flip through the books, in addition to Kinokunia in
Shinjuku, there's Maruzen near Tokyo Station, and Yeasu, which is just off
the Yeasu South exit of Tokyo station--go out the exit, cross the big
street, turn right, and it's about two blocks down. There's a big building
under construction across from it. Go all the way to the top floor. They
also have an excellent selection of German literature, and quite a few
physics and math books.

Yorindo (SP?) at Landmark Tower in Yokohama (Sakuragicho, actually) used to
be good, but they've cut their selection of English Language books back a
bit. I was there a couple months ago, and the computer selection was pretty
good, with quite a few Linux books.

In the past Laox Computer Kan in Akihabara has had a good selection, but I
haven't been there in a while.
