don't all laptops have a DB9 port?  oh yeah, they have some really tiny
ones over there that are port-deficient, right?..

... anyway, I still say the RJ45 port thing is a good idea.  Like on a Sun
Netra-T1.  those seem to be pin-compatible with the RJ45 async cables on
Cisco routers, at least.
