Now that IS the fastest drive (IDE) on the planet. hdparm gives me a cool 36MB/s transfer rate. Of course I had to go through a terrible ordeal right after I moved all my data to it. I somehow managed to make 12 partitions and one day when I got home only 6 were left with the 6th one being a few hundred TB in size. (All the important stuff was on partitions 10 and 12). But way to go linux. I managed to recreate the partition table (from memory and lots of trial and error) in about 4 hours and miraculously got everything back. Thatll teach me to backup and keep a record of my partitions. That was a software thing so I cant blame IBM for it. Ill still stick to IBM drives. A.Sajjad Zaidi
