it seems that it's only on SOME suns.  The E4500s and E420Rs that we had,
we had set their hme0 ports to do the forced 100mbit/FDX just like with
the U5.  However, with the Enterprise boxes, the Ciscos didn't complain.
only broke on the U5/U10 class machines.  I'm thinking possibly either the
specific ethernet controller in question is a bit different, or possibly
an OBP issue..?  most of our U5s were pretty old, whereas the 420s and
4500s were brand new boxes.
