Mozilla & Japanese input not working

No matter what I try, it doesn't work.

Tried several different versions of mozilla, tried re-installing wnn and
kinput2 etc.

Kinput2 works with kterm, so that's not the problem. But when I press
Shift-Space in Mozilla, it just outputs a space.

All help appreciated.
