Jack Morgan (yojack@example.com) wrote: Jack> How can I read Japanese email in pine? Or is xemacs better? As long as you have Japanese fonts, current versions of Pine (as well as the Japanese-patched Pine 3.96j) can read Japanese, although they do less well when it comes to Japanese input (3.96j is OK). There is a char set encoding in the preferences, you'll want to set it to iso-2022-jp. However, both Xemacs and Mutt do a better job of reading Japanese (and writing it). Pine's main stength is that it has a pretty good UI, but it lacks the capabilities of Xemacs and Mutt (and of course, Xemacs also has a pretty good UI). Jonathan
