Before installing lilo make sure that you have a working linux boot floppy so that you can boot from floppy and correct the lilo setup, if necessary. Anyway, if linux was running, you could have uninstalled lilo as lilo -u to get the original mbr back. Now you can try booting msdos from floppy and run `fdisk /mbr' to restore the msdos mbr.
