Since last July or so (Linus tried to install on his new notebook, failed,
and implemented in-kernel support.  Pissed off Dave Hinds ;).  It's only with
the 2.3.4x kernels that the in-kernel support has really become useable.

Still have to install pcmcia-cs, however ... just for the daemons, the
drivers themselves are built during the 'make modules' kernel build phase.
