I can finally report success with the VAIO 505V. It took quite a while
to sort out all kernel problems. The toughest one was a broken IDE DMA
(and filesystem corruption) on /dev/hda if I used a PCMCIA ATA card.
This should be fixed in 2.2.11, if all goes well.
