tlug: more debian kernel compile problems.

First of all, thanks to everyone for the advice and help.

I just posted a copy of the output from make. Hopefully someone out there can help me figure this one out. I'm willing to believe those who say that these errors aren't fatal, only since make exits right after these errors, I'm not entirely sure how I should get around it.

I actually solved my immediate need and retraced my steps by re-installing the base system (didn't actually take all that long, and then compiling a kernel with kernel-package BEFORE I updated libc6. It compiled with no problems. After updating the following packages:

libc6, libc6-dev, gcc, cpp, apt, g++, libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1-dev, libstdc++2.9-glibc2.1

from debian's unstable tree (apt made me install them in order to get the latest XFree86 packages), Both the kernel-package and the 'make dep; make clean; make bzImage' method failed when trying to compile a kernel (I wanted to see if I could do it).

Hmm. perhaps that's why they call it "unstable?"

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, advice, or perspective, I'd greatly appreciate it. As always.

thanks again.
