tlug: Process Traceing

I have a dial-up connection and always run "pppstats" in a different
window to watch the network activity.

I had lots of "in" and "out" packets going through the dial-up
connection. There was no mail going out or coming in. I tried "ps -x"
and "netstat -a" but did not get any traceable process for the network
activity.

How can I trace what process or host is using the dial-up connection?

Any pointers or info is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
