Stephen> M-x toggle-input-method ;; bound to C-\

(describe-function 'select-input-method)
==> Symbol's function definition is void: select-input-method

C-u C-\ gives me a prompt  ``Input method:'' though.  But this doesn't
help much, as there seems to be no input method available. No
selection of input methods is shown when pressing the TAB-key at this
prompt, and entering latin-1-postfix just yields ``No match''.

I tried this with GNU Emacs 20.3.1.

Maybe I should try Xemacs?
