Let me see /etc/lilo.conf - you're not telling LILO to install into
/dev/sda (master boot record on /dev/sda ?)  You want to install it on the
MBR of the 'first disk', in this case /dev/hda - IDE is always 'before'
SCSI on PCs... at least on all systems I've ever seen.
